Women in Politics: an interview with Georgia Matthews

Georgia Matthews is a renown Furian politician and member of Parliament. Born and bred in the Barn, she started from the bottom and worked her way up towards success. Because of her upbringing, Matthews is a badass chick who knows exactly what she wants in life. Continue reading to find out why Matthews is a true inspiration to all of us.

Scheduling a meeting with Matthews turns out to be a real challenge. Luckily, her representatives managed to squeeze us into in her busy agenda. We decide to meet up in Mommy’s Bastards, her favourite bar. Georgia is fashionably late, and enters the bar in a hurry. Even though she is dressed entirely in black, she draws attention. Georgia’s persona exudes a certain je ne sais quoi, and only she knows exactly what she is up to. Georgia orders golden milk, steaming hot milk with hints of honey and turmeric. Apparently the golden milk is extremely beneficial for her health and she even claims it sometimes heals headaches.

We ask Matthews why she is so extremely successful.

“I was born in the Barn and life was extremely tough. My father was not in the picture and my mother was addicted to heroin. No one really cared about my wellbeing, let alone my education. I failed tests and never turned in my homework. One day at school, the principal wanted to see me. She wanted to know everything about my mother and my living conditions. She, principal Sheldon, decided to take action. She told me I had to leave my home to live with her family. The Sheldon family showed me exactly what life should be like and I knew I had to do my utmost best to make something out of my life.

My foster family motivated me to study and my grades gradually improved. I managed to go to university to study Law and Business Management. Of course I graduated magna cum laude and soon I landed a job at Louis & Litt, Utrana’s biggest law firm. After many years of working as a solicitor, I wanted to make a difference so I joined Uterus. To me Uterus was and still is the best option women have in Furia. It is my mission to help and protect women and vulnerable children, and I want to fight for them. I am motivated; that’s why I’m successful.”
